Coffee with the Director…

Tonight was Coffee with the Director of the Clearview Library, Ann Kling, at Toast Coffee and Wine Bar here in Windsor, CO.

The main topic was the resurrection of the Friends of the Library Club.  This club was on hiatus for a bit, but now is looking to re-form in order to primarily help the library with fundraising activities.  Any and all are welcome to join.  Just visit the library’s website and enter your email to be on the list.  Volunteer-initiated programs such as maybe a gala dinner, art show, bake sale, etc were discussed.Image result for library windsor co

The Colorado Author Series was a popular topic with three authors visiting this year, including Peter Heller and Sandra Dallas.  This series is sponsored by an endowment with the idea thrown around of a possible pre-reception.

The Summer Adventure Program is revving up, which is a program to reward summer reading for kids and adults.  Along with this is added activities for the kids during the summer.

Story time has instituted advanced tickets in order to keep the number of participants manageable.  However, no one wants to discourage participation so the ticketing system is still in the pilot stages and is in review.

Pub trivia is huge and there are requests for more nights.  This would require either a sponsorship or giving up another program in order to pay for staff’s time.  This was under discussion.

Overall, a very encouraging and exciting hour.  It’s awesome to see the heart Windsor has for others in the community and to be engaged in giving back.  Exciting programs and events are in store for Windsor.  Volunteers are always needed and you do make a difference.  For all the details, visit the library’s website or in person today!

My Platform…

Hey all!

The challenges Windsor faces are difficult.  If elected, I’m gonna do my best to listen to all sides involved and do what’s best for my constituents.  That’s why my website is short on stances.  I’m awaiting all the facts and input before deciding anything.  I intend to stay as in touch with District 4 as possible, which means meeting the folks, taking notes, and implementing their ideas.  What I believe does matter, but I’m gonna strive to be as impartial as possible and let the majority rule.

This is why I need YOU!  To keep emailing me what you think, what you want to see, ideas for the future, problems you encounter, etc.  My door is always open.  Please, please, please walk through it!Image result for trails windsor co

Like you, I want to keep Windsor the amazing place it is to live for all—those coming here and those who are already here.  This is possible–if all of us work together.  I can’t do this alone.  There’s too much at stake…

Thank you all who have reached out to me already and supported me.  I’m as anxious as you for April 3rd.  It can’t come soon enough!

Have a wonderful, wonderful week ahead!

Question of the Week…

What opportunity is before you to use your gifts to serve others?

Candidates Forum…

Last night was the Candidates Forum for the Town Board of Windsor hosted by the Chamber of Commerce at the Windsor Community Recreation Center.  After the candidates introduced themselves and explained why they are running, the candidates were asked multiple questions on major issues facing Windsor such as water, growth, acclimating the new Town Manager to Windsor, and the culture of this town.  The candidates had a chance for final words and a meet and greet with the public.

My take away:  Windsor will be in good hands no matter who is elected.  I was truly inspired and overwhelmed with the candidates.  Everyone has a huge heart for this Town, is very knowledgeable about the Town’s issues, and all want to do what’s best for the Town moving forward.  Windsor is incredibly blessed.

I’m excited for the election in just under two weeks as the residents make the difficult decision of who they want to represent them.  An offer was made for the new Town Manager as well, a position that has been vacant since late last year.  A lot of excitement ahead for this amazing community and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Town Manager Meet and Greet…

Image result for windsor coTonight the citizens of Windsor were invited to the Public Works Facility to hear from the final four candidates for Town Manager of Windsor.  The gentlemen were given about five minutes to tell us why they want the position and then were available for questions.  Afterwards, comment cards were provided where we could give feedback to the Town Board on who we thought would best fit the bill.

All are well qualified and have years of experience.  Any one I believe would be great planners for Windsor’s future.  Hence, in my opinion, what it comes down to is who will fit best with the Town and its citizens and who will have the heart to do what’s in the best interest of the Town and all of its challenges.  I definitely have my opinion (which I left on a card).

Thanks to all who came out tonight and gave feedback.  I’m sure the Town Board values your words and will work diligently when they interview the candidates tomorrow to determine the best fit.  This is an important position for Windsor at this crucial time in its history.  Like you, I’ll be excited to see who they choose and get this ball rolling!

Good luck, gentlemen!
